Sales Representative – Southern California

 

Location: Southern California/Arizona

 

Salary: $72,000

 

Overview

JH Biotech is seeking a qualified individual to join our team to sell agrichemicals and fertilizers in the Southern California and Arizona markets.

 

JH Biotech is dedicated to providing farmers with bio, organic, microbial fertilizers, pesticides and animal nutrition additives in California for over 38 years. We deeply believe that our high-quality products and science-based solutions can help farmers and growers increase the yields and income while maintaining good quality of soils, crops and animals, and deliver the good environment toward our next generation.

 

We advocate Integrated Crop Management (ICM) programs to help farmers get to the goal of regenerative farming and prevention agriculture. ICM emphasizes a holistic approach to crop production stewardship, encompassing the cultivation of disease and pest-resistant crop varieties, seed treatment, the application of microorganisms, organic fertilizers, foliar supplementation of essential micronutrients, biological and predator-based control, and the cultivation of high yield varieties through crop rotation.

 

This position is responsible for the sale of agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, and biological products in Southern California and Arizona and provide ongoing support to product distribution channels. Sales representative will also be tasked with implementing sales and marketing plans for the assigned territory.

 

Essential Functions

  • Develop and increase sales revenue to meet assigned targets.
  • Establish and maintain positive business relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Attend trade shows and assist with the planning of sales exhibits.
  • Participate in education and training conferences on selling and marketing programs.
  • Be informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers.
  • Check on competitors’ activities and develop new methods of attaining new accounts.
  • Answer questions from customers and handles complaints.
  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • At least five years of field sales experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an agricultural related field such as agronomy, soil science, crop production, ag business, or horticulture.
  • Current PCA license required.
  • Must be knowledgeable in popular crops, fruit trees and vegetables in the assigned areas.
  • This position requires up to 70% travel and overnight.
  • Bilingual is helpful but not required.
