Position Overview

A progressive row crop operation is seeking a full-time Applicator / Sprayer Operator to join their team and take over responsibilities from a long-time employee who recently retired. The position offers stability, a strong work culture, and a supportive management team that values reliability, attention to detail, and pride in one's work.

The farm runs a John Deere self-propelled sprayer, and the operator will work closely with the farm manager to ensure timely and precise crop applications throughout the growing season.

Responsibilities

- Operate the farm's self-propelled sprayer for precise application of crop protection products and fertilizers.
- Calculate spray rates based on agronomic recommendations.
- Mix and load chemicals, transport product using a semi, and ensure accurate, timely application.
- Scout fields for potential issues (weeds, disease pressure, sand or soil problems, etc.) and communicate findings with the farm manager.
- Assist in developing weekly, seasonal, and annual spray plans alongside management and agronomy support.
- Clean, service, and maintain sprayer and associated equipment to ensure reliability and longevity.
- Collaborate closely with agronomy and farm management teams to achieve efficient, safe, and effective application results.
- When not spraying, assist with other farm duties such as equipment operation, harvest trucking, and general farm maintenance.

Qualifications

- Prior experience operating self-propelled sprayers required (John Deere preferred).
- Knowledge of spray calibration, mixing, and chemical handling.
- Must hold or be willing to obtain a Wyoming Commercial Applicator's License (simple process for experienced operators).
- CDL preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to safety and precision.
- Team-oriented and dependable, with willingness to assist across farm operations.

- Knowledge of chemical and fertilizer applications, mixing, and calibration.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Team-oriented attitude with the flexibility to assist in multiple aspects of farm operations.
- CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
