Cowboy/ Pen Rider/ Feedlot Assistant Manager

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Cowboy/Pen Rider/Feedlot Assistant Manager with a minimum of 3 years of experience working on a ranch or feedlot in Texas. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of animal production, specifically in the beef industry.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the daily operations of the feedlot, including feeding, medication administration, and health checks for cattle
• Riding pens to observe and identify sick or injured animals
• Sorting and handling cattle as needed
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the feedlot facilities
• Assisting in the management of feed and water supplies for cattle
• Providing support to the Feedlot Manager and other team members as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working on a ranch or feedlot in Texas
• Knowledge of beef cattle production and herd health
• Ability to ride horses and work with cattle in a safe and efficient manner
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Basic computer skills for record keeping and data entry
• Ability to work long hours and weekends as needed

Salary

$150.00 - $200.00 per day depending on experience plus housing for the right fit
