We're looking for a Field Testing Intern - Delmas

At Corteva Agriscience, you will help us grow what's next. You will be part of a team that is building the future of agriculture - leading breakthroughs in the innovation and application of science and technology. In this role, you will use your research/agricultural experience to serve as a team member in the Phenotyping team to conduct planning, planting, data collection and harvesting of Research phenotyping activities for Maize, Soy and Sunflower in the East of South Africa

You Will Be Part of Growing Team

Research and Development

Your Challenge:

  • Works as part of a team when they plan and execute experiments/trials efficiently and accurately within seasonal deadlines.

  • Will help with seed inventory, seed packing and processing where needed.

  • Will be part of the on or off station planting or harvesting team during planting or harvesting season.

  • Will be required to assist with field work such as multi-crop pollinations, rouging, work with processing equipment, data collection and other general day-to-day activities depending on the season and where needed.

  • Interact with all programs at the station to learn from the different divisions for your development.

  • Bring innovative ideas to improve processes.

  • Will need to demonstrate a good level of flexibility as well as learning and understanding new technologies.

  • Will learn and help to scout for plant diseases, pests and weeds.

To Grow What Matters, You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture or Diploma in scientific related field

  • Ability to make timely decisions, assist to solve problems and build consensus

  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills are required for fostering teamwork, enhancing a good working environment, and effectively developing strong working relationships with a diverse group of people

  • Technical skills are beneficial

  • Proficiency in Office software such as spreadsheets, mail, calendar and presentation software.

  • Always comply with safety regulations and country laws

  • Travelling and weekend or after hour work during seasonal peaks can happen

  • Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather

  • Valid driver's license is required
