Pay Rate: $14.25/hour

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Rotate weekly through all of our Food and Beverage Outlets to develop a comprehensive understanding of varied service environments.
  • Perform day-to-day tasks to support assigned Food and Beverage Outlet. This will include administrative tasks as well as hands on, operational duties.
  • Complete special projects to support assigned area with meeting business needs while satisfying internship requirements.
  • Work various special events, including parades, concerts, fairs and Island Impact events to assist with property needs and community outreach.
  • Uphold operational standards and instill team coordination in a high-volume service environment.
  • Work 3 – 5 special events, including parades, concerts, fairs and festivals to assist with property needs.

 

  • Specific duties for each intern may vary and are intended to provide a well-rounded perspective to satisfy internship requirements.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

Knowledge and Certification

 

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • Current enrollment in 2 or 4-year post-secondary educational program pursing a degree in a hospitality or related degree program

 

Preferred:

  • Previous guest service experience
  • Previous experience in a high volume Food and Beverage operation

 

Skills

 

Required:

  • Accurate and detail-oriented
  • Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills

 

Abilities

 

Required:

  • Ability to work fast and efficiently
  • Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene
  • Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to manage projects in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ability to independently complete multiple tasks in a professional manner
  • Ability to serve both internal and external customers

 

REQUIRED TRAINING

  • Treasure Island guest service training
  • Any position-related training as determined by division director

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to walk and / or stand for long periods throughout the day
  • Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend, kneel and stoop
  • Must have the ability to independently lift up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
  • Must have good eye hand coordination

 

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Work may be performed throughout the property (indoors and outdoors) including flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals
  • High volume direct public contact
