General Labourer

About the role.

McCain Foods (Canada) is seeking a permanent full-time General Labourer to join our Fry Plant facility in Grand Falls, NB.  

This position is physically demanding and requires working 12-hour rotating shifts, on a 4-on 4-off basis (2 days, 2 nights).

What you’ll be doing.

• Responsible for ensuring safety of self and co-workers.
• Responsible for following change over policy and requirements.
• Responsible for some sanitation duties
• Trouble shoot, adjust and maintain equipment as required.
• Must follow “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMP’s) and Critical Control Points (CCP’s).
• Ensure SQCDPE targets are met by understanding and goal setting of KPI’s.
• Follow JHA’s and work safely. Participate in STEP program (Safety interactions/Behavioral safety observations)
• Dealing with production issues, working in a fast-paced team environment
• Participate in Team meetings, as required.
• Complete core curriculum E-learning courses
• All additional duties as they become assigned.
   

What you’ll need to be successful.

• Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic computer skills would be an asset.
• Ability to work well with plant supervision and production employees.
• Team player with excellent attendance.
• Must have good mathematical skills and complete production forms accurately and neatly.
• Highly motivated, observant with good initiative and a positive attitude.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, and noisy environment adapting to and embracing change as it occurs.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must possess a good safety record and demonstrate “safety first” on a continual basis.
• Candidates must be able to complete physically demanding work including regular walking, standing, bending, and lifting items up to 35 to 40lbs.
• Applicants should be comfortable working amid substantial sensory input and able to maintain focus and productivity during extended shifts.

Compensation Package:  -  Starting at19.16 CAD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts 

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
