JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a good Avocado Grove Manager. Immediate opportunity for an Avocado Grove Manager. The Grove Manager is responsible for the overall management and success of our avocado orchards. This role oversees all aspects of grove operations, including irrigation, fertilization, pruning, pest and disease control, harvesting, labor supervision, and equipment care. The Grove Manager is expected to maintain high standards for productivity, fruit quality, efficiency, and sustainability, while fostering a positive and safe work environment for all team members.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Education/Experience
- Previous management experience in orchard, grove, vineyard, or large-scale agricultural operations.
- Bachelor s degree in agriculture, horticulture, agronomy, or related field preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to consistently achieve company standards for fruit quality, yield, cost control, and on-time harvest.
- Written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish preferred.
- Management capabilities to directly supervise 4 key personnel, with overall responsibility for a larger seasonal workforce.
- Working knowledge of irrigation systems, crop protection practices, fertilizers, and grove equipment.
- Proficiency with computers, spreadsheets, Microsoft/Google applications, and communication via smartphones and tablets.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on familiarity with orchard equipment.
- Ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and implement improvements.
- Capacity to adapt to changing conditions, weather, and crop demands while maintaining a professional, solutions-focused approach.
- Attention to detail with the ability to monitor orchard performance and take immediate corrective action when needed.
- Commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and productive work environment.
