Pest Control Jobs

A pest control worker is responsible for identifying the correct mix of chemical or manual solutions in order to get rid of pests and then the spraying and applying of this solution to the area affected. Job responsibilities of a pest control worker include identifying the pests and infected area, determining the proper solution to deal with the problem, spraying the proper solution over the affected area, keeping records of the infestation and solution of all clients, inspecting the area after the solution has been applied to determine effectiveness, making improvements to solutions based on past results, and ensuring proper health and safety precautions are taken.

A high school diploma is required in order to become a pest control worker. Helpful job skills include strong critical thinking skills, effective time management skills, active listening, good communication skills, problem-solving skills, knowledge of infestation possibilities and equipment, and patience. The future job market outlook for a pest control worker is very strong and increasing.
