QUALIFICATIONS:

- Solid cattle-handling skills, especially horseback work (Not Looking For a "Cowboy")
- Hands-on calving and herd health experience
- Practical knowledge of nutrition and animal care
- Ability to diagnose and treat cattle in the pasture
- Experience with hay production and feeding equipment
- Strong work ethic, good attitude, and willingness to pitch in wherever needed
- Mechanical aptitude for routine maintenance and ranch repairs
- A self-starter who thrives in the mountain ranch lifestyle and is looking for a long-term opportunity

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a good Ranch Assistant for this cow/calf operation in beautiful colorful Colorado. Nestled in the heart of Colorado s mountain country, this cow/calf and hay operation takes pride in strong cattle, well-managed pastures, and a lifestyle rooted in hard work and integrity. We are looking for a dedicated Ranch Assistant who values teamwork, independence, and the rewarding challenges of ranch life.

What You ll Do:
- Work cattle horseback, including roping for pasture doctoring
- Assist with all aspects of cow/calf management, including calving, feeding, doctoring, etc.
- Monitor herd health, identify and treat sick cattle, and manage nutrition programs
- Operate and maintain haying and feeding equipment
- Contribute to hay production and winter feeding programs
- Build and repair fence, maintain ranch infrastructure, and keep equipment in good working order
- Take initiative while also working closely with the ranch manager to keep operations running smoothly
