Position Title: Research Associate
Job Type: Contract ( 12 Months)
Location: Hyderabad, Telangana

Research Associate (RA)

The successful candidate will be a part of the Global Genotyping (GG-Biotechnology) Lab, India, which delivers molecular marker genotypic data at an industrial scale using high-throughput technologies. This work relies heavily on plant tissue sampling, liquid handling automation, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), and system integration. The candidate will collaborate with the lab leader and team members to complete daily assigned tasks, which include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform plant tissue sampling activities in compliance with established SOPs and ensuring integrity during sampling, storage, and transfer.

  • Support DNA extraction workflows and genotyping assays using production scale and automated liquid handling instruments.

  • Maintain accurate records of lab processes, instrument QC and performance, sample shipping and receiving.

  • Log issues promptly and communicate effectively with team members and the lab leader.

Educational Qualification & Experience

M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Microbiology, or related fields, plus 2-3 years of direct industrial experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Core Competencies

  • Hands-on experience in basic molecular biology techniques, especially PCR-based assay and analytical instrumentation.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot high-throughput lab processes.

  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in verbal and written English communication.

  • Flexibility to attend meetings and communicate with regional and global teams.
